A voice of expression for ordinarily feeling personified. |Book review on My Soul Rants- poems of a born spectator by Gurpreet Dhariwal

My soul rants – poems of a born spectator.

In My Soul Rants, author shares sixty different rants gathered together as proses which are unique in themselves as they share different perspectives of life. These are poetic rants which are subconscious mind discussing vividly life and its sideline armors all underlined by Author’s visionary. It takes us to a journey of emotions remembering certain cruel incidences from pasts along with heartbreaks & love.

All the proses come out very in different forms touching your heart at varied corners. These proses are something we feel in the complexities of life. These, don’t talk about anything out of our understanding. Hence, they are quite relatable.

I really liked the format of writing these thoughts as proses. There’s a simple yet effective way of portraying her thoughts. It is well expressed and shows that the book is written as a voice for all people queued in the same line.

There are prose that bring a personal touch narrating the behavior of the author and how the author is in reality which I think is new idea for a newly released book.

This book is an etched to reach to the like-minded people with the deep meaningful words of the author. The writing style and conveying the thought is quite appreciated.   The author makes the reader a part of her journey from the very first prose which is something I really like, that indirectly shows her charisma within. Being a woman, she gives wings of courage and self-sufficiency to all the woman by delicately describing the grace and demur personality. She presents womanhood as angelic and pure.

However, for all those who are reading a prose like poetic book for the first time, this book might get monotonous due to the heavy length of poems.  There are poems of hope and self-evolution that brings the theme self-importance and healing after a great fall that has become a necessity in today’s time but also becomes clichéd in literature world.

I feel the poems could have been a mix of small and big proses to maintain the interest of the readers intact.

I thank the author for giving me this opportunity for reading her book and wish her the best for her future projects.
